Notes on body hair: the radio edition.

May 13, 2010 \pm\31 12:00 pm

This is the radio version of a project I’ve been working on concerning my fascination with–and fervent encouragement of–sharing body hair-related humiliation.  It’s also the first thing I’ve ever produced with sound using ProTools, so be gentle.

Also, props to Ann Heppermann and Kara Oheler, two fantastic radio producers who shared their mad skillz with a bunch of techno-phobe writers in an MFA program this semester.

If you want to listen, please do.  My family members are funny and hairy, so there’s really no down side as far as I can see it.

Did your sister do some nitrous oxide before the interview?

I don’t think so. That’s pretty much her base line.

Just wait young ladies……first comes the bleach, wax, then the tweeeeeeezzzzing, (ouch), ….and if you don’t have the time to tweeze, out comes the razor!!!! It never stops growing, only gets thicker and eventually turns white! Then from the bottom up it starts to thin out, but you will probably never reach the day that face hair stops, that just get worse! So enjoy your bleaching, waxing and occasional plucking now…….the best is yet to come…………Enjoyed your hairy family interview.
