Something about winning Swann’s Way.

May 20, 2010 \pm\31 1:28 pm

It’s come to my attention that I own two copies of the (relatively) new Lydia Davis translation of Swann’s Way. I bought it at a Housing Works and then forgot about it and got another copy as a gift.

So I figured a contest was in order.

The best piece of Lydia Davis-y poetry/prose in the comments by the end of this weekend wins the extra copy. NOTE: You must somehow incorporate one of the following phrases into your submission:

• “For a long time, I went to bed early.” (The opening)
• “Avenues are as fleeting, alas, as the years.” (The closing)

Will announce the winner Monday.
