The astrology of rejection letters: Aquarius.

August 2, 2010 \pm\31 2:00 pm

dear landon,

i realized recently that the hierarchical relationship between writer and editor stands in direct opposition to my anarchist values. what’s more, the exclusion of certain words and genres in favor of other words and genres merely replicates our american capitalist meganarrative.

thus, i have decided to blow up the magazine.

while this letter is not an explicit rejection (as by the time you receive it there will no longer be a magazine to speak of) (and from an existentialist perspective, was there ever?) it is not an acceptance either.

power to the people!

your comrade

    Dear Comrade,

The only reason I submitted to your journal was because I knew you had anarchist leanings and suspected that if I submitted you would blow up the magazine, which makes one less magazine in the world.

    dear landon,

i take issue with your use of the word “world” as it inherently denotes the rest of the universe as “other.” you must be one of those worldist creeps.

furthermore, the capitalization of certain letters perpetrates typographic discrimination against other uncapitalized letters, and is, in turn, capitalist.

    not yours,
